Where
Hangar Home holiday rentals would only be available on Aeroparks that are zoned for solely residential use, where there would also be an Aeroclub for use by the owners and visiting pilots and their guests. These Hangar Homes would be used as holiday homes, where owners may wish to rent them out short-term when not being used, or just occasionallyif used primarily by the owner.
Aeroparks with Mixed-use Hangars (Commercial + ResidentialUse) such as at Solent, cannot be rented out short-term without breaching planning rules, so would be excluded.
The first Aeropark likely to be used for Holiday Homes is at Enniskillen Airport, whose owners can use the services provided by Fly-In Holiday Rentals and managed locally by the Aeroclub. Once this concept is adopted, it will lead to other Aeroparks zoned for solely residential use, such as at Perranporth Airport and other GA Airports in holiday locations.
Because of their stunning locations, these Hangar Homes would make ideal holiday homes for pilots, who could also make a significant income from renting them out short-term to other pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Owners could still safely rent them out to non-flying family and friends by not providing them access to the hangar, which is the only access to the airfield.
